Kaneland United Meets With KYFL Board to Discuss McNair Park Development

Elburn IL -

Representatives from the Kaneland United Soccer Club recently met with the Kaneland Youth Football League Board of Directors at KYFL's May 2016 meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ideas and collaboration on development of the proposed McNair Park youth sports complex and community open space in Blackberry Township.

Mo Gannon, Kaneland United's Vice President of Recreational Soccer,  and Tom Guernon, the Club's Director of Marketing and Development presented a fundraising and management concept for KYFL's consideration.

The presentation covered three items including the formation of an independent not-for-profit organization tasked with coordinating development and use of the park, a community kick off event to build support and a fundraising program to generate construction funds.

Leadership for each of the organization's discussed options and priorities for moving forward. The Club's agreed to revisit the concepts at an upcoming meeting.

Kaneland United SC is currently moving forward with forming a McNair development committee and meeting with the Elburn and Sugar Grove Chambers of Commerce to gauge potential community support for the project.
