Hancock, Heredia, Prebble Join Kaneland United SC Training Staff

April 5, 2016 Elburn IL – Kaneland United SC today announced Dave Hancock, Ivan Heredia and Becky Prebble joined the Club’s Travel and Academy youth soccer training staff.

“We’re excited to have three top quality coaches join our Club and choose to work with the kids,” said Mike Mitchinson, Kaneland United SC’s Vice President of Competitive Soccer. “They all can pretty much choose where to coach, and we see their decision to join Kaneland United as a reflection of our Club’s direction and the emphasis on the kids.”

Jason Diebold, the Club’s Director of Coaching added “Dave, Ivan & Becky add deep soccer experience to the Club. And just as important bring strong community ties, they’re good people and they match up well with our philosophy.”

“We also see opportunities for them to support the growth of our recreational programs and develop players in the high school age groups,” added Diebold.

Dave Hancock has over 20 years of coaching experience and holds US Soccer Federation National “A” and National Youth Licenses. His coaching experience includes leading the St Charles North and Geneva High School programs and coaching with the Illinois Olympic Development Program.  At the youth level, Dave was most recently with Campton United.

Hancock’s playing experience includes time at Eastern Illinois University where he was part of 2 NCAA Final Four teams, professionally with Gillingham FC in the English football league system, and a member of the Canadian Olympic Pool.

Ivan Heredia is a graduate of West Aurora High School and trained and played with Atletico Morelia in Mexico and Club Athletico Paranaense in Brazil. On returning to the Chicago area, Heredia coached at Marmion Academy, Rosary Catholic High School, Big Cat Goalkeeping Academy and with youth clubs including Fox Valley Strikers, Team Chicago and NSA Premier.

Coach Ivan holds a US Soccer Federation “E” license and a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Goalkeeping Diploma.

Becky Prebble is a native of Elburn and grew up playing with local clubs, including Campton United and Elgin Kickers. She was a member of the first ever Kaneland High School soccer program and played collegiately at Western Kentucky University and Ashland University.

After college, Prebble played with Fulham United Football Club and the Queen's Park Rangers Women's Club in England and coached at the Modern English School in Cairo, Egypt.   

She began coaching with Star Goalkeeping Academy, other college soccer camps and worked as a graduate assistant coach at The University of Tennessee at Martin.
